River Street Deli Reviews

Not very friendly new yorkers Aug 18, 2008
I found these great reviews online for places to go while on vacation in Chattanooga. My wife and I decide to have dinner with my 5 year old and 2 year old at the River Street Deli. So its 7pm and we arrive to a filled restaurant with only one table available we are seated immediately. While waiting for a highchair for my son we were asked if we had a reservation. Since this is a deli and there was no mention of reservation requirements on the website or any review I had read I never thought one was required at a deli. Guess this staff did? They asked us to leave! YES, I WAS ASKED TO LEAVE. I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD & A 5 YEAR OLD & THEY ASK US TO LEAVE. THIS IS NO WAY TO RUN ANY KIND OF BUSINESS. i AM FROM NY AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THIS POORLY ANYWHERE SOUTH! MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE NOT TO PATRONIZE SUCH AN ESTABLISHMENT.

A local sandwich shop well worth the visit. It's New York style with lots of creative foods, side-dishes, and excellent deserts. A classic example of the favorite hole-in-the-wall joint. Don't go at lunch time, as it will be packed.
