River of the Borders Oct 29, 2010
The Tweed actually reaches the sea at Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is in England but it is predominantly a Scottish river. Borders is a Scottish region which only covers the south-east part of the country, the area adjacent to the border in the south-west being Dumfries and Galloway.

In the Borders area Peebles, Galashiels, Melrose, Kelso and Coldstream all lie on the Tweed. In practically all its length it is noted as a fishing river.

I have encountered it at all the towns mentioned here but it is only at Kelso that I have enjoyed walking by it - leaving a lot to be done.
