How service charges can hike up your bill Sep 22, 2010
We knew that because this restaurant was on a Piazza that the prices would be higher than in the back streets but what we didn't know and what they didn't choose to point out, was that they slapped a massive 15% service charge on our bill. Given that 40cl (just under a pint) cost 6.50 Euros this brought the cost of nearly a pint of lager to 7.48 Euros!! Way too expensive.

The food was not great either. We only had a shared antipasti and 2 plates of pasta but the bill with the beers and bread added came to a massive 87.40 Euros!!

Do not go unless you have more money than sense!

This is what Italian food is!! Apr 26, 2008
In a square in Trastevere..

on very old cobblestone..

across the street from a gilded church..

You will find one of the most amazing Italian restaurants in the world.

It is perfect in everyway, honestly. From their offerings of quality, traditional food, to their amazing wine selection (oh my god who knew Gavi wine tasted like that??) to the fact that their panicotti should replace the word ambrosia in the dictionary. While you sip on your drink, wonderful musicians will come by and busk - but they will actually be VERY good!

For an absolutely unforgettable meal, please visit this little restaurant in Trastevere, you won't regret it. Their panicotti is to die for, their seafood is fresh and caught daily, their pasta completely melted in my mouth. I grew up around the best Italian food in NYC and I've never tasted pasta like this!

But you will have to put up with waiters that sort of come and go as they please. So bring some tictacs, your patience and a big appetite!
Mahimbo and Marco had a bit too mu…
