Ristorante Al Colombo Reviews

Dec 30, 2007
At all costs I would suggest avoiding this restaurant. This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I have ever experienced in all of my travels extending over the past 25 years. They overcharged us for one item on the menu, and they charged us 55 euros per person for a risotto with a few sprinkles of a very expensive white truffle which we did not order. In fact when we placed our order we had pointed to a much less expensive risotto with a black truffle, as we were having this as a starter and not as a main course. We had a fish as a main course, which was signficantly over priced and was very bland. And the vegetables were over cooked to the point where they were black and not really edible. In addition, they added a 10% service charge to the whole bill which we did not know about until we received the bill. When we complained they initially said they would reduce the bill by 10%, and then they changed their minds and said we must pay the entire bill. I indicated we would only pay for what we had ordered. They then threatened to call the police and would not let us leave if we did not pay the bill in full. Again, I believe this is a complete tourist trap, and would urge any one to avoid it at all costs.
