Just a few photos and postcards from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and one warning. Stay off the beaches at night! A friend of mine got robbed one night when we were there in Rio, well lets just say he got back to the room “Butt Naked” ROFL, they took everything!
Have you ever gone on a trip and the cheep 35 mm camera you bought brakes right after you get there. If so now multiply it multiple times and that is me till I went to Israel in 1999 and got a nice 35 mm camer…

In the fall of 2005, I was lucky enough to get to travel to Brazil for work. I spent about 5 weeks there and had a chance to experience the great city of Sao Paulo, including great restaurants, amazing people, and fun nightlife. We also took weekend trips to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Overall, it was another great trip to South America.

The 19 hour bus ride to Rio de Janeiro was quite good thanks to our friend, the sleeping pill. "What? It is 10 in the morning already? Can I sleep a little more?" So after a solid night of sleep, we arrived at noonish and got onto a bus to meet Danilo´s parents at a hotel in Copacabana. We arrived to the hotel with our huge, dirty backpacks where we were greeted by a receptionist that looked like a model... rather awkward. However, what did suck was that Danilo´s folks wouldn´t arrive…

One of those mornings in that we descied to not to get up too early. After seeing the sun peer though the window at approx 8 AM it was time for me to get up. Yes--8 AM, I do not like to get up late.

Brasiilial on nimelt spetsiifiline `teeme-tagasi` v…

Never before have I seen something mean so much to a country as soccer, or football, means to the Brazilians. On every corner, of every street, there are Brazilians selling everything they can with the yellow and green of Brazil. There are noise makers, fireworks, flags and of course Ronaldino jerseys. Over seventy-five percent of the people walking the streets have something with “Brasil” on it. The spelling of Brazil is with an “s” as in Brasil, this is the Portuguese spelling. Yell…

I arrived in Rio Monday morning after a very long day and a half. I flew from SLC to Atlanta, had a 10 hour layover in Atlanta, and then flew to Rio. I took a cab to my friend's place in Copacabana. I am going to be staying with my friend for a week doing some rock climbing around Rio and then I will be traveling on my own for the rest of my trip. Monday was very cloudy, I was a bit bummed about that. I went to the beach in the afternoon and read in the sad and then went back a had a gr…
