This was a serie "B" league game, it wouldn't be on international tv or make the newspapers sports pages of other countries but for me it was a superb experience.
The day started early, I was staying approx 100 miles south of Rimini and needed to get the train. I was up in good time, a quick …

One of the things I love most about Italy is the amazing transport system, the rail-network in particular. I live 10 minutes walk from the train station and therefore have the whole country at my doorstep. And it's not expensive either. I can go Milan and back for €25, or to Venice for €20. Its great. So, we took advantage of the hourly se…

Never before have I experienced quite a magnificent breakfast like that - it even beat the breafast we got in Lugano, all though no alcohol was served ;) fresh fruits, berries, ready-made baguettes, sweet pastries, great coffee etc etc, could've stayed there for ages, but we only stayed two nights…

So after a long night / day of travelling I arrived in Ancona to find out that Croatia is expecting rain for the next three days. Since the whole point was to lay on the beach (yes, I'm not sick of it yet!), I decided to make a change of plans. Since I'm close enough and I don't care if it's rainy in Venice, that where I'll be heading tomorrow. Craig, the guy I was on the train with today, mentioned a hostel in Rimini named the Sunflower Hostel, that where I ended up. The brochure s…

After seeing Southern Marche, we returned to the region again to explore the northern part. We were not disappointed. We also visited the Republic of San Marino, an independent state inside Italy. It's a beautiful state worth driving up to.
