Richmond Vale Hiking Centre Reviews
Brilliant community feel Jul 17, 2009
The Richmond Vale Hiking Centre is a great place to stay on St Vincent island. Their main purpose is a learning academy for students to study international development, but help make them self-sufficient, they have visitors as well. The site is huge (about 30 acres) which includes fruit plantations and plenty of accomodation.
Jesper who runs the site is very friendly, as are all of the students who form the community there, it will definitely be one of the more interesting places you stay. the food is good, there's plenty of nature nearby (like waterfalls, beaches etc), and it's probably the cheapest place to stay on the whole island (US$25/night), so I would definitely recommend it!
They also run tours so you can climb the Soufriere mountain if you like or go to the set of Pirates of The Caribbean films....plenty to do here!!
