Convenient and yummy! Aug 17, 2009
I'd definitely recommend RichTree if you're traveling and looking for something to eat, but you're not wanting anything fancy or something that's going to cost you a fortune. Usually when I travel I like to splurge on a nice authentic dinner or two, but then eat pretty cheap for the rest of the trip...this place is perfect for one of those quick "whatever" meals.

Everything is already cooked for you, so you don't have to waste time by waiting for your food to be cooked and served. However its not like a buffet because everything is made fresh to order. When you walk in they give you a "charge card" of sorts, and you walk around the restaurant at the different stands to choose what food you want. They have everything under the sun from ethnic foods, breakfast foods, burgers, steaks, salads, and desserts. Once you choose what you want they prepare it for you, swipe your "charge card", and you sit down to eat. It's very fast and simple. Then on your way towards the exit you pay the balance on your card and go back to your travels.

This place is incredibly convenient, especially if you don't have anything specific that you want to eat, or want control how much money you spend. Also, the portions are HUGE (to say the least). The only negative side is that it gets way packed around dinnertime, so I'd advise someone to get there before 6 p.m. to avoid the dinner rush. Also, there are so many food choices that it can be a bit overwhelming; it's easy to spend too much since all you do is swipe a card, so watch yourself! Despite that though, I'd definitely recommend this place. I wish we would have discovered it sooner on our trip.
A view of the RichTree restaurant.

Fresh food and too many things to choose from Mar 04, 2008
I went to this place almost 2 years ago (April 2006) and I loved it. This is way better than a restaurant. You can choose any type of food/cuisine and they prepare the food before you. You can choose from steaks, Japanese, Italian, Deli, Subs, soups, pasta, pizza, salads, wine, beer, soft drinks, smoothies, desserts, etc.

When you enter the place they give you a card which you need to hand in whenever you want to order something. Whenever you're done ordering just go to the cashier, he will slip the card and tell you how much you owe.

The ambient is pretty nice, they play music from different countries and it is always crowded. The food is pretty good and everything is fresh. I'm going to have dinner in this place in my next trip to Toronto (April 2008). If you have the chance to go to downtown Toronto and you're looking for a place to have a good meal, THIS IS THE PLACE!! There are several locations, check their web site to get more information.
