Moroccan charm Dec 31, 2013
The hotel is located in a commuter town Salé on the right bank of the Bou Regreg River, opposite the city of Rabat. Medina of Salé is a very short walk away, as is a tram stop connecting the town to the city.

I was very impressed with the service from the very first moment I booked 2 rooms via website. Since we were staying at the hotel on the night of New Year's Eve, I received a full dinner menu for that occasion shortly after my booking was confirmed. It was suggested as optional in case we wanted to enjoy New Year's celebration at not much cost and without tarvelling to the city.

New Year's dinner menu consisted of choice of entrées being served prior to the dinner with cocktails (with or without alcohol), Mise en bouche "Besara" (soup, specialty of Northern Morocco) as a starter, Pastilla of confit duck with pears served with a glass of white wine 'Domaine Sahari Réserve' from Meknes to follow, tagine of lamb with quince served with a glass red wine 'Domaine Terre Rouge' from Romani close to Rabat as a main course, and Raspberry Tiramisu with chocolate chips for a dessert. There was also mint tea or coffee to finish off the entire meal.

The food selection for the meal was quite fascinating and incorporated a lot of traditional and regional choices which made us decide on dinning at the hotel. And the price was very reasonable too - the entire dinner menu was £25.90/€31.00.

We never regretted our choice to have dinner at the hotel. The dinner service was very well organised with constant flow of entrées and cocktails prior to the dinner (so many that we couldn't eat any more) and very professional table service during the meal. The staff was extraordinarily attentive and delivered an outstanding service throughout the evening and night.

Tables were beautifully set for the occasion, and the food was of a very high quality, portions just right and tasted luscious. The dinner finished in time for New Year's celebration (we did see some fireworks from the top of the roof, but it wasn't many). The overall rating - A+.

We were pleasantly surprised with an after dinner entertainment - we were offered some shisha which we did try.

The hotel itself isn't very big which helps retain it's warm atmosphere and a personal touch. The entire décor is traditionally Moroccan which it's colourful furnishings and ornaments which create a unique feel.

The hotel has a prettily decorated open patio on the ground floor with a lot of relaxing seating, and a roof terrace overlooking the town and the city.

I booked 2 double bedrooms for our stay. Ours was on the ground floor next to the reception, the other one on the first floor.

The room was very specious with a double bed located on the ramp, and comfortable seating sofas with a table to relax. There were also a desk with a chair, a TV and an air-conditioning unit available.

En-suite bathroom was not very big, but efficiently organised to fulfill all the needs. It had a shower facility only. All towels and bathroom essentials were provided.

Complimentary breakfast is included in the room price and you can choose from many options on breakfast menu what you want to have.

Our breakfast consisted of fresh orange juice, tea, various bread selection, fresh fruit salad, cakes, sweet rolls, soft cheese, pancakes and omelettes. As yummy as the food from the night before.

Free wi-fi is offered by the hotel and worked with no issues.

Private parking is not available, but it is possible to find free on street parking in the nearby area (in the narrow streets).

Average price per room - £54.50/€64.00 which is not too expensive considering the facilities and great service.

This is one of the nicest places I stayed at, and would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience a little luxury and Moroccan charm at affordable price.
