Riad Dar Nakhla Marrakech Reviews
Moroccan style Dec 28, 2013
Situated on the outskirts of the old Medina amongst little maze of the streets, this hotel is not very easy to find. We had to result to help of one of the locals to find the place. And even he had a little trouble finding it. And it's only 5 minutes walk away from most central part of the Medina - Jamaâ el Fna Square.
The hotel is established in 17th century traditional Moroccan building all decorated in traditional style.
It has few levels with additional lounge areas and a vast roof terrace with some seating and a tent. The place is a little maze by itself.
Both our rooms were on the ground floor by the reception. Rooms had windows looking onto the main lounge area and doors which had to be locked with a padlock.
Our room was the smaller one with a double bed, a small table and air-conditioning unit.
It also had an en-suite bathroom with shower. Towels and bathroom essentials were provided.
Room rate included breakfast which was served on the roof terrace and consisted of fresh orange juice, coffee, traditional breakfast pancakes, selection of bread and jam. Everything was fresh, scrumptious and served instantly when we arrived.
We stayed at the hotel only one night - average price per person £19/€22.50.
The hotel offers free wi-fi which worked fine during our stay.
If you require parking, you will need to find it yourself as the hotel does not offer such a facility. Luckily, there are at least 2 car parks in the nearby area.
It was not the most fascinating place I stayed so far, but was good enough for the price and closeness of Medina.
