Riad Dar Mimouna Hotel Marrakech

Having stayed here in October 2009, I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Marrakech. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, not asking for any extras in exchange for their help (unusal in Morocco!) The Riad itself had the traditional layout and we were given complentry mint tea upon arrival. While I imagine the facilities are the same in any Riad, what stood this apart was the service of the staff and the location. Okay, it looks dodgy as hell from hte outside and surrounding area isn't much to shout about but once inside its a real pleasent retreat from the busy streets of Marrakech. Food is also vey good and very reasonably priced. The Riad will also provide you with a taxi to and from the airport for €7 (getting a taxi at the airport will cost you €15 and I found the drivers very unwilling to negotiate as they knew they had the monopoly). It's also well located as the main square is only about a 10 minute walk away and it's just across from one of the Palaces and the Tombs. The staff speak some English but are much more fluent in French and Arabic.

Althrough I thought little of Marrakech, coming back here was a real treat and for the price it's well worth staying with them.
