Lesser known Ría Nov 04, 2010
The well known rías of Galicia are divided between the Rías Altas of the north coast and the Rías Bajas to the west. They were all known not so long ago for their undeveloped landscape, but now there is more building - good luck to those returning after emigration.

The Ría de Muros y Noía is hte most northerly of the Rías Bajas. It is the smallest, most wooded, probably the least known and certainly the least developed.

I had decided I did not want to stay long in Santiago de Compostela and just managed to catch a bus to Muros, which is on the north side of the Ría, where it meets the sea. This is a fine Galician town and I could well have spent longer there if I had arrived earlier.
