I just found out that I will be returning to Greece in September for a whole year!  Until then, hard work and lots of planning.  We will have another trip with the students in December/January, and I am hard at work on the textbook already.

Besides travelling the world, I also believe that the place you call home can hold some of the most expectacular beauty if you know where to look. This is the case with the US, 50 states with as much to offer as any country in the world. East coast to west coast, north to south, it is as different as night and day each with their own unique culture. There's something for everyone here! I offer you a very small peak of my incredible journey through this land I call home!

college life
posted by:
Jun 26, 2007 - Sep 27, 2007
On my way south from Boston I stopped overnight in Providence to visit Sigel, another camp friend, and get a taste of college life.  I actually got a taste last year when I stayed with Merry, but I still find it fun & fascinating!  We don't have so much of the college-dorm-lifestyle in Australia, so it always seems slightly tv/movie-like to see that this is really how people do college in America.  So we had dinner, Sigel wrote a paper, and we went to see a movied - King ...

Visiting all 50 US State Capitol Buildings!: Providence Travel Photos
posted by:
Jun 08, 1993 - Aug 22, 2006
It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.

THANK YOU to everyone who sends me postcards and help make my collection grow! I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH! If you sent me a postcard and you don't see it in this blog, it means it's still on its way or I never received it because it got lost or someone stole it. Yeah, it happens.

A visit to Providence
posted by:
Apr 16, 2006 - Sep 15, 2006
While I was living in Boston last year, one of my friends, Shane, was living in Providence, Rhode Island, right around the corner from Brown University. A few of my friends and I visited Shane for a weekend, where we sampled Providence's excellent night life! This was my second time in Providence, I also visited it the year before, when I attended The Killers' concert!I think the nightclub we went to was called Fish Club. It was a decent club, quite busy, plenty of underagers I'd say (myself ...

Side Trip from Boston, June 2006
posted by:
Jun 14, 2006 - Jan 27, 2008
A Sunday afternoon in Boston, and after having missed the bus on Saturday, we managed to get on the bus at the correct time, and we went off to Newport, Rhode Island. We chose this location because my dad lived there like a hundred years ago (he was stationed there for awhile when he was in the Navy) and also, it was different. I really had no idea what I was doing, but Newport is what I would call a quaint town. It's adorable and fun to walk the streets in, but I can't imagine why on earth ...

the beauty of travelling solo...

Today I moved on from my island haven & headed to Providence, Rhode Island. My sole reason for stopping here was to visit the Culinary Archives & Museum, and it was definitely worth it! They have a huge collection of culinary-related stuff - stoves, utensils, gadgets, presidential menus & china, info on chefs & a big exhibition on the history of the American diner. So I spent nearly three hours exploring, and it was really interesting. And that's when I decided this was part ...
