Iceland in winter, well it was cold, but a trip back in spring, summer or fall is in in order ;-)
We arrived in Iceland very late on a Friday night. We were last in line at the car rental place. Why does everyone in front of you take 5 …apart in this case). The valley there is growing at a rate of 2 cm a year apart. it was pretty windy and cold, so no hiking in the park, just some quick photos and back to the heated car, we had a lot of sites… Weekend in Iceland |

The most popular tour on Iceland... 8 hours by bus, unfortunately a terrible weather - rainy and windy like I've never experienced before!Many beautiful places, among them: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring
area, Kerið volcanic
crater and the…waterfall, Geysir hot spring

crater and the Þingvellir National Park (where the Great
Atlantic rift is clearly visible - a rift which is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic
plates). A very interesting day... just sad about all the rain - boring photo weather!

Thankfully, we were told the right time by Reykjavik Excursions for
this day's tour. We had chosen to go on the most popular one, which
was called the "Golden
Circle." It was an 8 hour bus
ride where we encounte…apart along tectonic plates was located there).
Being on this tour was exhausting, because I constantly felt like I had to
be camera ready at all times. It was just so beautiful everywhere I

Most people do not know this, but Reykjavik, the capitol of Iceland, is only 5 hours from New York City. This was a major factor in the decision to visit the country, as I only had 4 free days to travel. My friend, Sarah, a…apartment located on a quiet street and was within easy walking distance to the heart of Reykjavik . The owner of the guesthouse was an adorable older man who treated my friend and I like princesses. I highly recommend staying at a guesthouse… Arrival into Reykjavik... |
