Retreat Nassau Reviews
Retreat May 30, 2014
The Retreat is tucked away on a road outside the central part of Nassau close to Fort Montague. It is a nice green area with lots of palms. The park is peaceful since not many tourists make it out here so you can walk around the park without meeting anybody if you are a bit lucky.
Apparently the small park has one of the most extensive collections of different sorts of palms in the world. There should be way over a hundred palms in the park. Though I wasn’t able to identify all the different species I was only able to spot the most obvious palm looking growth as the palms.
The entrance to the park is a bit steep at five dollars per person which is a bit on the high side considering there isn’t that many features in the park. You can probably just walk in without paying since nobody is checking tickets anyways so paying the entrance fee is a matter of your conscience.
The park is located along the bus route from the city which will only be a short ride. Unfortunately the bus route back to the center is a bit of a tour around the greater Nassau area. Hence a bus ride back will take a while.
