Beansprout chicken Jul 19, 2011
As you know ipoh have the best beansprout chicken, and here they grow a super healthy fat and short beansprout, that's the only beansprout you could get in ipoh, It believe the beansprout had been planted with the limestone water, that why it's grows so healthily :)

Was Jack Here Before ? Beansprouts & Chicken ! Aug 09, 2010
Firstly, I didn't name the restaurant, but it describes exactly what they serve.

Ipoh town is known for the beansprout & chicken served with flat noodles(kuetiau) or rice. There are several in close proximity to one another and competition is strong. (or is it ?)

The chicken usually ordered is steamed or boiled chicken (I can't tell) that comes with soy sauce & sesame oil gravy. You can also have chicken feet, other bits of the chicken and pork balls too!

The beansprouts are somehow better than those from other places, seems fatter & crunchy. Said to be due to the water from the limestone caves surrounding Ipoh. (but if you end up with stones, don't you blame me ! just kidding)

The flat noodles in soup are very nice to compliment the dish. Some may find that the food is a little on the salty side. (it could be just me though)

The restaurants serving this dish are not open for lunch. They have done so well that they don't need to. If the place is open for lunch and serving this "chicken & beansprout", they are not the original gang of operators. (anyway, most people in Ipoh are well off enough not to worry about little things like the economy) Maybe Jack left his magic beansprouts somewhere nearby and everyone benefited ?

Is it good ? Yes, it is a tasty diversion! Give it a go when you are next in town. (remember, not open for lunch)
