Restoran Korsaar Tallinn Reviews
Must do! May 30, 2012
This place is a must do. If only for a drink or two!
The food is great and the staff is amazing! But you're not going there for the food or drinks alone!
You go here because they have pirates! :D
It's a gourmet resturant and to get to the Corsair restaurant you first have to enter the Beer House. Inside you'll quickly see a pirate ship. It's easy to miss the entrance to the restaurant, but it's inside the ship itself behind the netting. Enter the ship and go downstairs to the basement. Notice the Captain as you walk down the stairs. This is just the beginning of a amazing place.
As you enter the restaurant you'll find that the whole place is modelled after a pirate ship.
Everything has been designed with utmost care and taste. Everything from the menu, service, facilities to the cutlery and small metallic coat of arms on the glasses. Even the seats, tables and bathrooms are just amazing. It must have cost a fortune to build this place and we're told it took several years to complete! They even got their own shark tank with 3 small sharks.
The place is a bit expensive as the food is about twice as expensive as other places, but this is absolutely worth every cent. It's still cheaper than in Norway! ;)
The drinks are a little more expensive than a normal restaurant, but not more than 0,50 - 1,00 €. More than worth it.
I even had a friend who knows his beer (beerfanatic...) and he was amazed with the local brewed beer they served. He claimed it was the best Estonian beer he had ever tasted and that says a lot since he ordered several more before we left. He claims it doesn't even have the metallic taste all Estonian beers have so it's probably good. I personally don't drink beer so I would'nt know, but I'll take his word and vouch for it as he is highly respected for his opinions about beer, both in our group of friends and by every beer and whiskey lover there is....
The staff are all dressed as pirates and are amazing people. The chef will come to your table and take your order and answer any questions if you have any. After you've finished eating and have paid your bill they will stand by the door waiting for you with a small shot and some ham to send you on your merry way. ;)
I wish my basement looked like this. I would never go out again! :D
I've been here 4 times now and come to like it more every time. The staff is amazing and if you want there is a possibility to buy the glasses. 13 € for the waterglasses and about the same for the rest except the cocktailglasses and the brandyglasses. The latter costing 60 € a piece.
I bought glasses for 198 € and still happy. ;)
Hope you find your way here if you like gourmet food and good atmosphere with a friendly staff this is the place to be.
