Food with a good view Aug 30, 2014
Down at the water there are a lot of restaurants to choose from. They all seem to be pretty much targeted towards the tourist crowd which wants to sit down at the sea and enjoy the late afternoon sun watching the sea while eating. We expect they are all sort of the same standard so not much point in picking one particular.

But in the start of the promenade there is a bit of smell from the water - probably from a sewer of some sort sending filthy water out to the harbor area. So we don’t want to eat too close to this part of the water front and walk away until we reach a spot where we can no longer smell the filthy water. Around that area are plenty of different restaurants and we look at a couple until we just randomly pick one which seems to have a decent menu at reasonable prices.

The restaurant provides a bit of cheese and bread - which is probably to justify a small cover charge from everybody eating there.

We decide to go for the meat platter for two which consist of different sorts of meat and sausages - like it is usually the case in the Balkan countries the meal is quite substantial and is very heavy in the meat department and not much in the vegetable department. The serving is quite generous like is also the custom in this part of the world so after the main there is no room left for dessert.

Good view and okay food Aug 30, 2014
Beautiful view toward the ferry harbour with Blue Ocean and huge walkway at the front of the restaurant, plenty of old building to admire, shops to browse and relax at the comfy chairs for people watching.

The waiting staff is nor friendly nor accommodating, it was okay service – just do their job I supposed without overly friendly or chat to the guests.

The menu is quite extensive with very reasonable price – down to cheap, since the hotel and restaurant is at the water front.

We order a platter for two which include meat, vegetables, sauce and French fries. After we order we get 4 slices of white bread and one slice brown bread which come up with cream cheese on the plate. We thought the bread is free – but it was not, it was added to the bill, do not remember how much, either it was 8 or 18 kuna (=€1.20 to €2.40).

On the menu it mentions scallop filling, and I thought it was scallop (seafood) – but it come up beef with ham filling and cheese on it. It was okay, plenty of food – from beef steak, chicken, kebab, bbq pork chop, egg plan, tomatoes and fries.

Food was pretty good and really filling. For the price, quantity and quality food – the restaurant was okay and I might visit again in the future.

Hotel restaurant Jun 24, 2013
Walking along the seaside, we decided to have a drink and dinner at hotel's restaurant. We chose the outdoor seating area as it was a very lovely and warm evening. We ordered our drinks, cocktails, but didn't enjoy much of the fresh air due to a sudden downpour. Everyone was immediately seated inside and our drinks were served shortly after.

Since none of us was overly hungry, we ordered a big fish platter to share. We had fish, shrimps, calamari and octopus with various vegetables. Although the platter seemed small at the beginning, we actually struggled to finish all the food.

The meal was tasty, but our waiter was not attentive and left us waiting, as well as he didn't give us a choice of drinks when we were trying to order more.

The food was good and restaurant itself was pleasant enough to visit again. Nonetheless, I hope to be served by a different waiter.

The meal price including drinks - €15
