A restaurant for everyone Jul 30, 2008
Lima is well known because its great cuisine. You can find delicious food for every taste and at reasonable prices. You just have to choose what kind of food are you in the mood for. Here is some general information about the restaurants in Lima, I hope it'd be helpful.
Tips: they are not included in the bill. We usually tip 10%. If you are paying cash, just leave it cash, but if you are paying with a credit card, just add this amount and do the math before signing the voucher. Security: something that can surprise you is finding chains under your table or in the chairs. They are used to lock your purse or bags. Some years ago, Lima wasn't very safe and this was the way to protect your own things against robbers. Right now, it's not so unsafe, but just in case... Hours of attention: depending on the kind of food they are open for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. Just the cebicherias (the seafood places) work only for lunch. We don't use to have seafood for dinner. Left overs: if there are left overs you want to take with you, just say it is: "para llevar", so they will put it in a doggy bag. To share: if you want to split a dish, just tell the waiter this is "para compartir", so he will bring 2 plates. Buffets: they are becoming more popular and you can find chinese, peruvian, seafood buffets. Their prices usually don't include a beverage. The food can be cheap, but they will make money with the beverages. I hope this info might be helpful. |

Suddenly after eaten we heard that it was time to go on the flight. This time we flew with the airline TAM. I think the airline was ok but I have… South America |

It is a nice little town with colorful buildings, american style restaurants and clean streets. At least in the part of it where I stayed. There were a couple of reasonably good restaurants (Chilean food is not that great overall) but right across the hotel was located a curious italian restaurant with photos of Marylin Monroe… Going to the APEC Summit |

…There
were some nice dishes and were cheap, but if we would like to taste everything
it might be almost as expensive as going to a nice restaurant in the Main
Square of Barranco and have a Peruvian buffet, so better go for the buffet,
haha. Besides that restaurant is nice and the atmosphere is great too. I’d
write a review about it :)
Because I wasn’t sure where we would… Francois is back for the National Holidays – Viva el Peru! :) |

I remembered
he made a comment to one of my reviews of a restaurant, which serves a Peruvian
buffet. So, instead to go to a place just for Fish and Seafood, better going to
this restaurant, where he could get not only the Fish and Seafood, but also
other Peruvian dishes :P
The traffic was crazy, but finally… An afternoon with Francois and a Cosmopolitan Mini Meet Up :) |
