Restaurante Principe Calhariz Lisbon Reviews
Great food Dec 02, 2010
I went to this restaurant with my couchsurfing host as it was near his neighbourhood. The nearest metro station would be Baixa-Chiado and this restaurant is a five minute walk from there.
The place does a great selection of normal food which is catered to the locals. The dishes typically consist of meat, complete with side dishes of rice and fries (double carbs, great!). However, they also do salads and overall, a very decent selection of starters and main dishes.
The service is decent but not wonderfully eloquent, just simple and basic stuff. They do have a TV on but I think this is fairly normal in Portuguese restaurants, and the noise is easily forgotten into the background once you are talking.
We ordered a very similar meal each and share a bottle of house wine, and the bill came to 20 Euros. Portions are generous too. The place does provide excellent value for money.
This place is definitely worth visiting if you are looking for an authentic and rustic Portuguese restaurant.
