Restaurante Claras Em Castelo Lisbon Reviews
Hidden little gem Jul 07, 2012
This local family-run restaurant was recommended by the hostel staff as serving typically local freshly home-cooked Portuguese food. It took me 3 days to get a table booked for dinner as the restaurant is very small and takes only a limited number of reservations per evening.
The restaurant is beautifully located in old part of the city right by the entrance to the castle.
This is the smallest restaurant I have seen so far with only 6 2-seater tables. It is tastefully decorated with vintage style chairs, tables and cabinets and has a really homely feel to it.
I arrived promptly for my reserved slot and was seated immediately by a very friendly waitress who offered me a drink and presented with restaurant's menu.
The choice of dishes on the menu was very varied and I decided to try grilled fish fillet served with fresh veg salad. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully melted in my mouth.
The entire meal, including wine, cost approx. £12 so not very expensive.
I would highly recommend this little restaurant for a quiet, family-like meal.
