Restaurant Vita Copenhagen Reviews
Traditional Danish food in Copenhagen Oct 05, 2013
Restaurant Vita is one of the few restaurants in inner Copenhagen, where time stands still and they serve traditional Danish food until late in the night, usually until 3 am. The place is usually half empty when you get in but at some point during the night large groups go there in order to fill their stomachs with the best of traditional heavy meals. One of the favorites is the famous duck that can bring you back to a Christmas sensation even on the warmest summer night.
The interior is quite traditional Danish bodega style from the 70s and one of the items is the old piano where Vita sometimes played during the night. It is a place that attracts artist and city bohemians. I can truly recommend the duck but if that seems to Christmas like then head for a traditional Danish Hakkebøf or one of their stews. The food is fair and square, far from high-end but it is fulfilling the goal of cooking like our Danish grandma did.
