Restaurant Thomahof

Restaurant Thomahof is situated in the 4-star hotel Thomahof in Hinterzarten. The restaurant is decorated in a typical German mountain style with a lot of carved wood, flowers, angels and geese everywhere!! Everything is very close to be too much but the carried out to make it hold a tiny step from making it kitsch.

The food was good; I guess my girlfriend got better dished than I did because she thought it was very good. I had a deer pate (rehnerrine) to starters and a steak (zwiebelrostbrat) which was too dry to my taste for main course. My girlfriend had a Thomahof plate for starters which was great and a Vienna Schnitzel as main. We both had the Tagesdessert which was a chocolate ice-cream with hot raspberry sauce, which I really liked.
The waiter was nice and service minded and managed to help us in English as well where my German abilities ended.

All in all an okay place to eat - very cosy, a hotel and a restaurant that clearly attracted the senior guests
