Restaurant Steichele Nurnberg Reviews
Tradional German food Jun 14, 2010
I was in Nürnberg and for the first time I stayed inside the inner wall of the city centre. Not far from the hotel we found a traditional German restaurant; it was a family run business and the name was Restaurant Steichele.
We started with a taste of a local beer in the afternoon sun which was nice after having spent a whole day indoor. After the beer we entered the restaurant and the traditional Bavarian design was incorporated in every item of the place. Inside there were dark woodwork everywhere and ground colour was dark brown and the walls were painted white. The tables were nicely decorated and they were decorated with small flowers.
The lamps were almost macabre; they were all built on a base of deer antlers shaped in everything from angles, mermaids and dragoons. There must be someone with a heavy nightmare somewhere!
The food was traditional with a fish salad as a starter and pig as a main course. The food was heavy and not the best I have tasted but the dessert was really nice.
