Restaurant Søren K Copenhagen Reviews
Søren K Jan 02, 2015
The restaurant "søren k", named after Søren Kierkegaard – who was a Danish philosopher, theologian, poet, social critic, and religious author who is widely considered to be the first existentialist philosopher. He wrote critical texts on organized religion, Christendom, morality, ethics, psychology and philosophy of religion, displaying a fondness for metaphor, irony and parables. The restaurant itself owned by Jens Heding.
The restaurant located at the Black Diamond building (Royal Library) with a waterfront view of Copenhagen Harbour. It is open since September 1999.
The dishes based on simple and good ingredients, preferably organic and often free range products.
The light dinner I have was delicious, where I order Pork with apple and cabbage and creme of onion. The meat was very tender and tasty, the vegetables was fresh and I highly recommend this place if you want to have a good food.
The staff very attentive and the service was immaculate. Price wise very reasonable and affordable compare with other restaurants in Copenhagen area.
However, the highlight for me is the brunch (really love it), they have it on every Saturday from 10am in the morning to 3pm in the afternoon, where table can be book online in the period between 10am, 11am or after 12.15pm, and the table you book is yours for two hours, , or just pop in in the restaurant without reservation.
The interesting part of the brunch is – all the dishes place on the small plate or bowl with snack size portion and you have to bring your own plate which is on the table and it can carry up to 5 small plates or bowl of your choice. The food looks yummy and very presentable and it taste really good and I could not help myself but take more and more of it.
The brunch accompany with free juice of carrot with buckthorn and orange, Juice of apple with beetroot and ginger, Juice of tomato with horseradish and celery salt, Bubbles and white wine, Coffee and tea.
I personally skip the wine and the champagne since I do not want to get drunk at this place and prefer to enjoy the food, and I did try the juices even thought I don’t like it – since it was free –why not. The brunch cost DKK255 in 2014 and now 2015 cost DKK295.
I very much enjoy the brunch and this place would be my monthly brunch venue in the future.
