Restaurant Saba Djibouti Reviews
A cosy Yemen restaurant Nov 26, 2009
On our last night in Djibouti Town we wanted to have dinner at a local place. Our tour guide recommended the Yemen Restaurant SABA. A very good choice indeed. The restaurant was full of local people, which is always a good sign.
They had a wide-ranging menu including salads, fish, chicken, meat, burgers, spaghetti and local specialities. And also mouthwatering fruit juices. I tried the banana/melon juice, which was very nice.
For dinner I went for the menu of the day, which was samosa as starter, grilled fish as main, a chocolate/banana crêpe as dessert and a local cinnamon tea. For all this I paid USD 11,50. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. The fish had been BBQ with very nice spices.
Being a Yemen and muslim restaurant, they did not serve alcohol, but it was all right to bring your own beer or wine. Despite a very simple setting, the place felt very cosy. The service was excellent and they were very friendly and flexible. Our waiter was one big smile the whole evening.
Restaurant SABA is a good place to eat if you are in Djibouti Town.
