Restaurant Oh Mar

Restaurant Oh Mar has locations in 4 different cities in Ecuador, I visited the one in Manta, which is very well located at the Malecon at the most famous beach: Murcielago.

There are many restaurants along the Malecon, but Oh Mar is one of the biggest. They have a whole corner. There are no windows, so the breeze comes inside the restaurant. They are one of the most populars, so need to have as many tables as possible. It's a beach restaurant, so don't expect a fancy place, although is very clean and nice.

They have a wide menu, including not only fish but also meat and chicken, but if you are in the coast you want to have fish and seafood, also their slogan is: "una ricura en mariscos" (yummy seafood) and it's so true.

I got a shrimp cebiche which was very tasty. Shrimps were big and fresh. They gave me as side patacones, which are fried plantains, but weren't greasy at all, just crunchy.

The only thing I don't like is that they don't have fresh juices... :(

Service is good. Prices are not that low, but the size of the portions is good. Other restaurants in the neighborhood are much cheaper, but you can see this place gives you high quality products. Very, very fresh, which is important specially for seafood.

I came here early during the day, so I can't say anything about dinner, but could see that this is a regular spot for having a beer too. If you are in Manta, I'd recommend to try this place after having a relaxing beach day :)
