Restaurant Michele Sarajevo Reviews
Restaurant Michele Jul 06, 2010
Were just wandering along the main street looking for somewhere to grab a light meal that night.
Right on the main Ferhadija Street and it looked OK. Had tables inside on two floors, but had tables outside, across the street, which were under cover, which was necessary as it had been raining and wa threatening to do so again.
Fairly reasonable choice on the menu, despite it being mainly a pizzeria. Service was fine, despite the guy having to wander across the street all the time, but it was nice to sit out and watch the people of Sarajevo pass by.
Even on the first night it was easy to see, from the way people dressed, that there was a good cultural mix among the groups that passed by. Great restautrant for 'people watching' and the thing to do in Sarajevo after dinner is to go walking as you would see the same folk pass by a few times.
Food came in good time, and kids went for pizza and calzone, while my wife and I both had chicken, mine with a cream sauce and she had pepper and mushrooms with hers. Food was OK and no complaints.
We were however the only ones in the place having a meal at that time, and we were wondering whither we were early or late in dining. Around 10-30pm though, the shops that were still open started putting up their shutters and we worked out sarajevo was a town that closes early. Not sure if it's something of a hangover from the war.
Overall the Restaurant Michele served it's purpose and was reasonable value, without being anything special.
