Restaurant La Fenice

This may sound a little strange, but we found this wonderfully nice and clean restaurant in Lucerne, Switzerland. On our own for the evening we had strolled with another couple through several blocks of the downtown area. Up off the main streets we found this nice, slightly upscale place.
The menu was complete and offered several of our favorites. Lasagna sounded so good to us and their version didn’t go overboard with the tomato sauce or too much cheese on top. The wine list included a nice bottle of our favorite type of wine to go with it. So with some excellent service and a fair price we had an excellent meal.

On the off chance your in the mood for a nice Italian dinner, and you find yourself in Lucerne, this has got to be the place for you.
Clean and nice surroundings, fine food, good wine choice, good service.  The top four things in finding a good restaurant. La Fenice covers all of the above and does so at a fair and average price.
Our choice for the evening was Lasagne. Not too much tomato in the sauce, or cheese on the top. All done quite nicely.
Your other choice would be to hop in a cab, suffer the enormous fair, and do the five or six hour drive to Venice.  And you still might not get as good a meal.
