Restaurant De Belhamel Amsterdam Reviews
Exquisite food with an amazing view! Aug 17, 2009
The restaurant is at a lovely spot at the crossing of the Browersgracht and Herengracht. It's in a quaint old canal house and in better weather you can eat by the canal. The interior has many artnouveau details and is warm and intimate.
The staff is very friendly and helpful in making the best choices. The menu is a French / Italian fusion with some Dutch dishes as well.
For starter I had:
Sourdough croutons with smoked mozzarella, grilled eggplant and a basil dressing.
For main I had:
Gnocchi of roasted potatoes with shiitake and a pesto cream sauce.
For dessert I had:
Rhubarb mazarin (tarte) with mascarpone.
My tastebuds were on holiday for this entire meal. The chef really knows how to layer flavors. I am so happy to have this restaurant at the end of my block. It's a shame it took me over 2 years to finally eat there.
Oh, and by the way, they are Michelen Bib Gourmand 2009 rated.
