Restaurant Chez Jeannot Anse Bertrand Reviews
Nice fish Apr 28, 2012
We had spent a great day in the Anse-Bertrand area with its wonderful beaches and point cliffs with the wind blowing heavily from the surrounding waters. We decided to find a place to eat inside the small village and we had not yet been collecting any recommendations so we just took the car and went for all the small narrow streets in order to find a place.
The first place we visited did not have any fresh fish of the day and only offered us pizzas, which we gently declined. Just a little further down the street we eyed Restaurant Chez Jeannot at the small street with the large name; Boulevard du Commandant Mortenol. The restaurant was specialist in Creoles cooking. The restaurant was fairly large and there were not many persons in there maybe because we were a bit late. In the end of the room they had a huge TV screen showing all kinds of Brazilian soaps during our visit.
We ordered a bottle of white wine while we tried to figure out what to eat. Babs went for the grilled fish while I took a creoles dish together with some fresh salad and some fried fish bites. The food was fair for my account while Babs was very satisfied with her fish. It was a nice quiet place and I enjoyed the cold breeze of wind entering the open restaurant.
