Restaurant Bambou Bleu Montreal Reviews
My favorite Vietnamese place in town ! Incredible value for your money and tastebuds! Jun 28, 2013
Le Bambou Bleu is running since 1982, but it's in my top 10 Montreal restaurant since the 1st time I've been, in 2000.
Food is freshly made and tasty, service is courteous and fast, and the price range is more than decent; "Combo A" includes a soup, 2 fried imperial rolls and 2 charcoal meat skewers (you can choose 2 out of 3 meat: pork, chicken or beef) along with deep-fried battered shrimps & rice, plus tea or coffee, for a bit less than 20 $ including tip. Even better than that, you can bring your own wine, that you can go buy at the SAQ store across the street!
On a cold winter day, nothing says "comfort food" like a gigantic bowl of their Chicken or Beef Pho (Tonkinoise) Soup. It'll bring you back to life, especially if you're not used to the long, cold & humid Montreal winters!
My personal favorite is Combo A (no surprise here!), switch the Home-made soup for a bowl of Chicken Pho (Tonkinoise) Soup. The seafood (shrimp, scallops, salmon), veggies & noodles sauté seems fantastic too.
It's pretty much the same staff ever since I first went there, 13 years ago; the Vietnamese lady who seems to run the place is crazy efficient! The price also barely increased in over a decade.
Vegetarian, Halal & No-Gluten eaters will also find some food their to match their dietary requirements.
