Restaurant Aino Reviews

Apr 17, 2007
Aino is one of the few restaurants in Helsinki serving typical Finnish food, and it is fantastic. There are two floors to it, and when we went a party was taking place on the upper floor so we were shunted down to the basement.

A half litre of lager cost around 6€, and a glass of the house red was about the same price. Whilst you're pondering what food to have (the choice is enormous and it all looks delicious!) the waiter will bring you copious quantities of Finnish bread - don't each too much of it or you'll spoil the main course!

Main courses include grilled liver, reindeer, salmon and arctic char. I had reindeer with blackcurrant sauce and garlic purée (28€) and it was exceptional.

A thoroughly satisfying and cosy place to eat, highly recommended.
