Restaurang Drottninggatan Stockholm Reviews
Restaurang Drottninggatan Feb 16, 2010
Yet another cold evening in the centre of Stockholm and I was staying at Hotel Karlaplan, but I had moved myself in to the centre of the city because I was joining one of my colleagues for dinner somewhere near his hotel.
We wanted something to eat without walking too long; because Stockholm was freezing and there was slippery snow everywhere. My colleague had been Restaurang Drottninggatan before and that was good enough for me; he was still living and pretty well.
When we arrived at the place it was quite full. My colleague had told me that it was a place with traditional food and we met loads of traditional Swedes in there too. Most of the guests were past 50 years and I only heard Swedes in there.
After looking at the menu we both choose garlic bread and a steak. I chose to accompany my meal with a Staropramen Amber while my colleague went for a normal Staropramen. The food was okay; the garlic bread was not the best but the steak was really good and the frites as well.
The interior took me to a Swedish lunch canteen, if I except for the bar; well that’s how I felt anyway. In Sweden many of the canteens in large companies are public in order to have a good offer and having a good economy. It was not what I was looking for in order to have an evening meal - I wanted a real restaurant.
