Restaurace Havelská Koruna Prague Reviews
Cheap restaurant in the centre with typical Czech cuisine Mar 13, 2013
If you are hungry in the centre of Prague, you've got many options to choose from. I personally like to go to this one. Not just because this is one of the cheapest options in the city centre, but because the meals are really great there.
How does this restaurant work like? You enter the main door and get a consumption card at the cash desk. You need to be careful not to loose it, otherwise you are warned to pay a fine 500 crowns (about 20 euros), if you don't bring it back. You go further to the counters and the experience begins. You can choose from sweet food (e. g. fruit dumplings with grated cottage cheese are one of the options, yummy) or the other one with soups and main dishes (see www.havelska-koruna.com/menu).
I like and always have my favourite dish - dill sauce with beef and dumplings - you need to say how many you want - I take 5. But you can try other typical Czech meals - Fillet of beef with cream sauce, Potato dumplings filled with smoked meat, Dumplings-pork-cabbage (called Knedlo – vepřo – zelo in Czech, which is very typical for the country) and many more, yummy.
You can choose also from tap beer, either Gambrinus lager or Pilsner Urquell lager (I prefer Pilsner though, but it's up to you).
You get everything marked off on your consumption card and everything served immediately - you don't need to wait ages to get your meal.
You can see, that this restaurant is cheap, however very clean and nice seats and tables - even a glass conservatory in a courtyard makes it a pleasant stay there. I recommend you to choose your meal in advance. The staff speaks English, but might be a bit impatient, if you don't know, what you like - don't forget, the service is really quick, so don't expect, that you should choose your meal too long :-))).
Don't loose your consumption card and enjoy this cheap Czech restaurant, but with delicious meals. You don't need to pay hundreds of crowns for typical Czech food, if you can get this for a couple of tenners in the heart of Prague...
I added photos just recently, so you can see the restaurant and what they serve there...
