Residence Inn Melbourne Reviews
Almost like home Jul 12, 2011
Doug and I had the opportunity to stay here for business at the recommendation of the company we were visiting.
This hotel is located in what appears to be an area that was a commercial shopping area at one time, but may have come upon hard times. Although there are vacant stores near by, the area is still maintained and did not appear to be depressed or unsafe. Other than a shopping center across the street there really is not anything within walking distance.
The hotel itself is immaculately clean and the staff very polite and social. Everyone greeted us daily which was really nice, in fact the maintenance man was from our area of Michigan and we really enjoyed talking to him.
Our room was terrific, with a full kitchen, living room with flat screen TV, and separate bedroom with a fabulous king bed . . . so comfy! Plenty of pillows, and not the little flat ones you often see in hotels. These were huge and puffy, I was in heaven!
I really liked that the sink area was separate from the bath and toilet. And there was plenty of counter space and storage for long stay. And of course, since there was a full kitchen, the coffee pot was not in the bathroom . . . one of my pet peeves with hotels.
Residence Inn serves a full breakfast with meat, eggs, waffles, fruit, yogurt and assorted breads. It was considerably better than the usual hotel breakfast.
Although we did not attend, this hotel has 2-3 nights a week where they offer supper to their guests. There was a schedule for the month on the fridge advertising a barbecue night, taco night, and other events.
We didn't use the pool, but it was busy with lots of families, so it must of been well maintained.
While we were there Doug and I tried to make reservations for a two week stay for some of our employees but unfortunately the hotel was booked. However, the front desk called around and found another hotel for us. I didn't even ask, they just took it upon themselves to try and help even though there was no benefit to them. What great customer service.
We will definitely be back to the area, and I know this hotel will always be our first choice.
