Residence Inn Cape Canaveral

The Residence Inn by Mariott at Cape Canaveral, Florida, is a new hotel in an ideal location. The hotel is an excellent place to stay for exploring Florida's "Space Coast" along Highway A1A or as a place to stay overnight before boarding a cruise at neaby Port Canaveral.

The hotel features all-suite rooms. Suites have a kitchenette and sofa. Amenities include an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and wireless Internet access. A complementary buffet-style breakfast is served in the breakfast area. (Make-your-own waffles are included.)

The Residence Inn is off I-95 on Route 528. Orlando is about 45 minutes away, making day trips to Disneyworld posible. Cocoa Beach, both the town and the beach, is just down the road. The Kennedy Space Center is also nearby.

The hotel offers a shuttle to the Port Canaveral cruise terminal for $6.00.

We booked the Residence Inn Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach the night before our cruise. I had three things on my requirement list for this hotel. First, we needed a place to stay so we could arrive the night before our cruise. It’s never a good idea to try to fly in the day of your cruise. Second, as cruise accommodations are notoriously small, I wanted something fairly large to give us one night to spread out. Finally, I need a hotel that could shuttle us to the docks. The Residence Inn worked great for all three.

Obviously any fleabag hotel could take care of giving us a bed, but starting a vacation it is always nice to get off on the right foot. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is new and clean. We rented a 2 bedroom suite, and it was both spacious and well furnished. We got free Wi-Fi, two televisions, and a kitchenette.

Finally, they offered shuttle service, at $6.00 per person, round trip, to the dock. They also would let you park you car at their lot for free while you were out enjoying the Caribbean.

I did think it was just a little pricey, so it is not a value hotel. This cost it my final star. Other than that, we found nothing to complain about in our short stay.
