Day 1, August 9 - Belgrade, Serbia
posted by:
Aug 09, 2007 - Aug 21, 2007
Not wanting to break with the longstanding tradition of sleeping-in while visiting Belgrade I woke late on Monday morning.  This was my last day in Belgrade and I had a lot to do before catching the night train to Romania.  I had a busy final day in front of me filled with eating, packing, a new tattoo, and last minute errands. Two beautiful Serbian girls (in a tight uniform) checked my passport and asked me where I was going and how long will I stay, and for a moment I really fancied the idea of getting arrested by them. So I arrived in ...

Midnight Train to Serbia
posted by:
Jul 08, 2008 - Jul 28, 2008
Oh my gosh, it can get really hot in a big city! With little sleep and temperatures near 40C (over 100F) we were staggering around town in a daze. Nevertheless, we managed to explore pretty much every inch of downtown in our two days there. After dropping our packs at the hostel we set out to explore. Climbing the steep hill separating the city from the train station and riverfront, we found the main shopping street, Knez Mihailova. It's a wide, canyon of a street, lined with tall buildings ...
