Renaissance Kowloon May 02, 2009
This was a welcome stay in Hong Kong after my time in Nepal previous to arriving here.
The hotel is right on Victoria Harbor and close to many of the major sites in Kowloon. Easy access to the MTR and the Star Ferry is a short walk away down Salisbury Rd. Shops and restaurants of Nathan Rd are right across the street from the hotel and there is a Shopping Mall complex attached to the hotel as well. Rooms were pretty standard hotel fare, although I found my room quite spacious. Enjoyed the large bed and nice mattress after roughing it the past few weeks. Pool area was wonderful for relaxing which I needed for an afternoon. I stayed at the hotel using Marriott Reward Points. General price is somewhat expensive but probably in the neighborhood of the nicer hotels in Hong Kong area (and maybe a bit cheaper than staying on Hong Kong Island). I would recommend hitting up restaurants in town although the bar was not too bad if you needed a sandwich fairly quick. All in all I enjoyed my stay here for the two nights I was here. Settled in here for a bit and then headed out to catch the MTR Subway over to Hong Kong Island proper. Wandered a bit to get my bearings after… Exploring Hong Kong Island |
