Renaissance Hotel Downtown Washington D.C. Reviews
Great location, reasonable rates Apr 06, 2010
Too bad I don't have a lot of photos of this hotel as I always felt as if I were running in and out of it and it was somewhat crowded (but much less crowded than some other hotels over Cherry Blossom Festival Weekend!
It was all you could ask for and more. Amazing staff, cost per night during Cherry Blossom Festival weekend was a mere $150 per night including tax, and it was centrally located to all downtown restaurants, metro stops, etc.
The only drawback is that as of last weekend (4/2/10) there was some construction going on which made it very dusty outside. Parking here costs $25 a night plus tax. The lobby is enormous, chic and beautifully designed in a modern manner.
Adjacent to this hotel is a starbucks, NPR, my absolute FAVORITE dimsum-serving chic restaurant Ping Pong, and it's about 2 blocks from the closest train station and about 3 blocks from where the MVP bus drops you off in Chinatown. You can expect nothing but convenience and helpful staff here.
The rooms are nice and spacious, the beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is a bit outdated and small but well kept. The towels could be softer but they're fine. They were also able to check us in early. I arrived around 2pm and they had my specifications waiting for me the minute I arrived (high floor, extra towels, early check-in).
I definitely recommend the Renaissance to anyone who needs to stay downtown!
