For NYE I joined 3 friends to party at the Steamworks Brewing Co. in Vancouver B.C. We drove up the day of the 31st and checked into our hotel on the harbor side. The place was Renaissance Hotel (part of the Marriott chain) And if you have read any of my other blogs, you would know what I am a big fan of the Marriott (I love their beds and PILLOWS!!)
This hotel was as magnificent as the other Marriott's I've stayed in. The place was elegant. They had a restaurant, bar, and their own little souvenir shop where I picked up a couple bells from my mom and a couple keychains for my bro. They are collectors. The bar wasn't too large, but they did have a pool table there where Keotoe and Reggie (Erik's friends) found themselves hanging out at before our night out. The food was great there at the bar, I had a hummus and flatbread plate along w/ Truffled Mac and Cheese!! Yumm!! Room service was magnificent as well. Food was good and service was wonderful. But what made this place wonderful was the view. We had 2 rooms next to each other. And our view was amazing. There was 1 building they were renovating that stood out like a sore thumb, and it was right in front of the hotel facing the harbor, but it our view was still amazing. I would definitely stay here again! Waking up to a view of snow cap mountains, blue skies and a gorgeous harbor was incredible!! Our view was so amazing. Our hotel was also only a 6 block walk to the Steamworks Brewery where we spent NYE... which isn't a bad walk, but in 20 degree weather... is freezing, especially in a dress!! But I opted for the walk, so I'm not at all complaining, just giving you girls a warning!! Part of the Northbound for NYE travel blog
