Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong

Chose this hotel mainly due its close proximity to the HK Convention Center. Needless to say, I was on a business trip and arranged my accommodation to be as convenient as possible. Plus, whenever in HK i prefer staying on HK island, hotels are slightly more expensive than Kowloon but i like the accessibility.

I arrived from Jakarta in the afternoon, the airport express to HK station (HKD 100 one way) and a cab ride (approx. HKD 20) to the hotel took approx 30 minutes.

Check in was swift and i was given a newly renovated room on the 33rd floor with a spectacular 180 degree view of Victoria Harbour.

The hotel had 4-5 star amenities : bath tub & shower, hair dryer, bathrobes, slippers, LCD TV, high speed internet, in room safe, ironing board, coffee/tea making facility and complimentary bottled water.

A dip in the huge outdoor pool on the 11th floor perked me up immediately after my 5-hour flight.

Dinner on the first night was had at Lan Kwai Fong, a block in Central with numerous restaurants, bars etc about 10 minutes by cab.

I stayed for 4 nights and the breakfast buffet was what you would expect of a hotel in its class, varied choice and excellent taste.

The convention centre is directly connected to the hotel so all it took me was an elevator ride down plus maybe 3 minutes of walk.

Another plus point is that you can actually enjoy the symphony of lights in the comfort of your own room, add a bottle of red and a romantic night would soon follow!
