The first day! We left our university at 6am in the morning and went with 2 busses Paris. On the way, we made a stop in Reims to visit the Champagne Pommery. We were divided into groups and we had a tour in the caves of the pommery. It was really nice and impressive to see all these bottles of champagne. A tourguide told us about the history of the Pommery and showed us around. After the tour, we all had a glass of champagne. (I don't liked it but okay, just to try hehe) After the visit we he…

Reims is only 45 minutes by train from Paris. The station is near the town center, it is really practical! Although it was raining a lot when I arrived, I decided to walk because I was worried not to have time or a better weather later to see around. Place d’Erlon is the lively place where all restaurants and bars are. Not far away from it, there are a lot of shops, including the Gallerie Lafayette ;) Just by wandering in the town centre, there were pretty old buildings in the streets…

Once the playground and favorite residence of the French kings, princes, dukes and nobles the glorious Loire Valley is a dream destination where every brick is breathing with history. With its magnificent Chateuax, beautiful landscape, delicious food and wine it is a true paradise for those who really enjoy life!

Since my sister loves the champagne lifestyle, why not drive out to where they make it and sampling some of the regions finest drop.
Picked up a mate living in paris, who is an avid champagne drinker to make a weekend out of it.
The rolling hills and countryside of Reims and Epernay were absolutely beautiful.

Reims is the city of French Kings and Queens, probably because they have the best vineyards to grow the best grapes and produce the best "wine"

The region of Champagne is famous for
obvious reasons. It also happened to be
in a convenient place on our way to Luxembourg.
However, getting from Tours to Champagne was a challenge due to the
stupidity of the French tollway system and the idiocy of French drivers. Having mostly avoided motorways up to this
point we decided that to save time we’d take them this time. However, all the time we saved by going on
the motorway was wasted by the hour and a half we s…

Upon arrival in Reims, France, we were picked up by our new hosts, Emmanuelle and Antoine. Squeezing with our packs in our laps into their tiny car, we were driven about 30 minutes into a more rural area of forests and farmland. Their house is in a small village which name I can't remember. There we met their son and daughter, Leo and Lucille, and their lap dog Toy. After settling in we took a short walk around their small town, and upon returning we had a fantastic dinner of ratato…

Okay, so we're back on the E-4/E-50 freeway in Metz heading west. I think we're back on track. We pass through the forested hills of the Ardenne, near Verdun. Then we enter into a land of muddy farms as far as the eye can see. This is the famous Champagne region. We stop in Reims, breifly, before continuing on toward Paris.
