After checking out the sites in this great city, get a car and take a day to see the World War 1 stuff in the surrounding countryside. The damage to the land is still visibile today. An amazing but sobering experience.

This is a good day trip to take from Paris. It's only 40 minutes via train leaving Gare d'Est. We went specifically to visit the champagne cellars but the town of Reims itself is very charming. It has one of the most beautiful cathedrals I've seen (and I've seen many).
