We left our hotel early that morning (9:00, of course) and headed out to explore and have lunch in the medina in Essaouria before heading to our next destination, Marrakech.
After having lunch in the medina, we made a stop at the Argan factory which is run by widows and divorced women. They demonstrated the process of making Argan oil and its many uses (i.e. cooking oil, body oil, shampoos, soaps, lotions, etc.)

We arrived in High Atlas mountains of North Africa, in a 4 wheel drive vehicle, taking us up through the Toubkal Massif region in Imlil. A berber man waiting for us with his mule to carry our luggage to the Douar Samra, our riad ( about 50m by walking right going up the hill) and we passed by ancient berber villages, built with a pise clawed from the mountain slopes, tucked away in arguably valley in the Kingdom of Morocco - Imlil walking thru big rocks, also! …

We bound to the Atlantic coast from the valleys of high atlas mountains the ancient Phoenician town of Mogador and now since Independence, called Essaouira 'Little Picture'. Abandoned by the Portuguese in 1541....to relax in beautiful seaside!
