It always surprises me how fast time flies when I am somewhere I love. Brussels always seems to fly by. This time even more so than last year. This year it was sort of like a homecoming. I have had a wonderful time with my family. There are discussions about having the oldest one come visit me next summer so he can experience the US. I really do hope that happens. The 3rd day we went to Brussels (Brussel, Bruxelles) by train. Travelling by train is very easy form Antwerp to Brussels. It was not my first visit to Brussels; I've been there about 15 times before. But every time you will see something else. Brussels is the capital city of Belgium and is also the border between the Flemish and Walloon part of Belgium. November into December of 2007, I took a 3 week trip to Europe for work, but I had lots of time to see the sights for the holiday season and the weather was incredible. I visited Spain, several cities in France, Belgium, London, North Wales, and Portugal. What a wonderful time of the year to visit, as it was wonderful to see how the Christmas holiday was celebrated in Europe. What a great trip!!

As we were just about to emmigrate to NZ we decided to do a road trip around Europe camping, with Max our son who was just one years old at the time.

This is the continent that showcase a lot of history, culture and romance.

We get up early as usual when we have to leave. This time it’s three thirty in the morning. Maurits picks us up and brings us to the airport. We quickly arrange all things and can drive to Zaventem at quarter past four, as we wanted to. There are no problems when we arrive at the airport, we can start the check in fast and then move on to the passport and luggage control and after that a quick breakfast.
