so we were so un-impressed with our one night in brussels that we didn't even take any pictures. perhaps it was just the area but it was kind of a ghetto l.a. with the grocery store that had two cans of food. we were a little scared to be honest. but we're still alive. did see some pretty scenery on the train out though so we know it's not all scary!
we did also get to risk death on the bus to brussels from chareleroi airport. there was a car crash on the freeway and our driver swerved…

Brussels was really nice. Royal Place is pretty amazing. I spent two hours sitting in a bar, just down from the boy-fountain, watching people walk past. The dodgy-restaurant area of Brussels is something to see; just don't sample it. They all look really poor quality.I thought I was going to have my hostel ( http://www.laj.be/ ) room all to myself until 9pm, then a nice Korean bloke turned up - but he was pretty cool, so not too bad. The hostel was pretty well equipped, padlock lockers…

Studying abroad just doesn't mean partying and drinking, it means assimilating into the culture, learning the language, speaking the language, interacting with spaniards, eating spanish food "tapas", accepting the differences, opening up your horizons, being patient, and searching for yourself, for who you are.
This is my life, this is my year abroad in Granada, Spain 2007-2008

People asked me whether or not I was excited to be coming back to Europe. I was hesitant to answer because what I was feeling was not really excitement I think. I was thrilled to be going but I didn't have the same the feeling that I had the first year and a little the second year. I was happy to be coming and I am thrilled to be here, but I don't have the feeling of excitement that one gets when they go somewhere new. This isn't new. It is definitely welcome. I am glad to be here. But I had …

We finally get oriented with the map and go look at some of the sites. We went to the Atomium, which is like the Eiffel Tower of Belgium. IT's was really neat, I love places where you can see the whole city! Then we went to Grand Place and saw the pissing boy and ate a belgian waffle, mmm tasty!! We went to the museums but we didn't read any of the information plates, I tried to read some but it was no use. So we took some pictures, and got ripped off by a guy who beac…

Because I love flying and travelling and a lot of things that go along with it, I enjoy seeing the different aiports too. Each trip I take, I try and route my tickets to have layovers in different cities for this reason. Well fo this trip I chose to go through Brussels. Much to my dissapointment, it wasn't very exciting. Now just having flown 7 hours through the night without sleeping doesn't help anyone but none the less, I wasn't too impressed. Was it the fact t…

My two best friends and I flew into Paris armed with our overly stuffed backpacks and Euro-passes. We took a train to Amsterdam then my first time to Berlin (amazing!). Then, we went to Switzerland spending two nights in Lauterbrunnen and then a night in Interlaken. As we headed back to Paris, we stopped to have lunch in Italy because it was Danielle's birthday (and she's dreamed of Italy...being Italian and all). Then, my friends few out and I stayed with a family for another month.
