There is no solid reason it took me this long to post this, but I have had a hard time summing up my trip to San Pedro de Atacama. Each year, the program goes on a trip somewhere in Chile, sometimes to Patagonia in the South and sometimes to the Atacama Desert in the North. Well the bubble had to burst some time.  I had trouble sleeping during the night and woke up with a major cold.  Had a big breakfast and then went into town.  Museum was interesting.  ATM was out of money so had to go to a moneychanger; nasty little man.  I know they’re robbers anyway, but this one tried to give me half the money that was due to me.  Needed suntan crème but the pharmacy had closed for lunch.  Went down early to the tour office and found e…

This place was amazing. Unlike any place I've ever seen before. A short drive from San Pedro de Atacama...Chris and I decided to visit Laguna Chaxa on our way back from San Pedro, on the way back to Iquique. Once again- that fucking travel book that I had, made this place sound like something completely different than what it was- nonetheless, still a great surprise.
