Regina Riverside Guesthouse Chiang Mai Reviews
Lovely and Peaceful Vintage Riverside Guesthouse Jun 01, 2011
Regina is a small 6-room guesthouse. It is within a walkable distance from Thaphae city gate (about 15-20 minute walk). The front of the guesthouse is a cute vintage-inspired coffee and book shop that also serves delicious pastries. The Ping riverside garden space in the back is turned into a restaurant at night. I can't say anything about the noise because we always came back after the restaurant hours but the garden is the perfect space for reading a book and sipping a cup of coffee in the morning. The staff are not there 24-7 but if you return late, there is a little alley that is used for entry after hours. But they are very flexible if you happen to arrive late at the night of check-in. The rooms are very nice and clean and are also air-conditioned, which is much needed during the summer. There is also a water-heating system, for it gets pretty cold in the winter in Chiang Mai, free wifi Internet access and a TV. For those of you who are cat lovers, they have cute little kittens roaming around in the garden and on the corridors. I have seen about a dozen of them and they were absolutely adorable.
Price per room (as listed on their website):
600 baht per day
550 baht per day if you stay at least a week
15,000 baht per month
This is a little tangential but right next to Regina is a wonderful and pretty tea house called Vieng Jum On. They have a fantastic selection of tea from all over the world. If you are a tea enthusiast, you should definitely check it out. It is quite pricey compared to the drinks you get on the streets of Thailand but it's definitely worth it!
