Austin Travbuddy Potluck Dinner!
Jul 18, 2008
Before we ever even had our first Austin Travbuddy meet, Elena (iseefishes) came up with the idea of having a potluck dinner for TBs. We presented the idea at our meet, and it met good reception, so we went ahead and organized the dinner. Elena was gracious enough to volunteer her condo as the host venue, and I continued with my task of gathering willing and available TB members. Together we made 7, and had a great time! Thanks all, and thanks again Elena!

Travels with Lori: Vermont
Jul 09, 2008 - Jul 16, 2008
An old friend of mine, Lori, met me in Hartford, CT where we rented a car and drove up to Vermont to see our other old friend, Tori, get married. It was a college reunion of friends who I hadn't seen in 8 years, and it was in one of the most beautiful states in my country. I couldn't have asked for a nicer trip.

A Small Travbuddy Gathering in Austin
Jun 27, 2008
With all of the TB meets that have been going on without me, I was starting to get jealous that I hadn't met any Travbuddies myself! Haha! So, I remedied that situation by gathering most of our locally active TB contingent here in Austin.

South by Southwest 2008, Austin, Texas, USA.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is one of the largest film and music festivals in the United States and has been held in Austin since 1987. The music part of the festival is hosted in scores of venues throughout downtown Austin and features over 1,400 bands in 4 days. I did my very best this year, and I think I actually got to over 23 bands in 3 days. Not an easy feat considering how fast my head was spinning from all the choices of shows to see and beautiful crazy peoples from around the world.

Christmas trip to Disney World

Orlando, Florida, USA -› -› ...
I went to Disney World with my parents, and my sister and her family for a week over Christmas this year. We had a blast, but it may have been a little hardcore. We spent 5 days straight at the 4 parks. Again, we had a fantasmic time, but I've never welcomed several hours on my butt on an airplane like the day we came home.

Kayaking Palaus Rock Islands

Palau -› -› ...
I have kayaked in many a beautiful place. NOTHING can touch the Rock Islands in Palau. Although Palau is no easily accessible travel destination and is usually only visited by the most dedicated divers or anthropologists, it is truly a shining emerald of green in the deep blue bosom of the Pacific.
